Volume 12-08
It's nice to be home once in awhile! After a great summer of library
programs and a few fair shows in Minnesota and Wisconsin, I've spent
most of the last week-and-a-half back here at home with Heather and
the kids. I even got to be here for my son's birthday, which was
great!
If I can't spend the whole summer with my family, however, I couldn't
ask for much more than what I've been lucky enough to do almost every
day this summer. Bringing polka music to kids and families in 11
states has been a tremendous thrill and privilege, and I look forward
to continuing the tradition for many years to come. Just a few
highlights include performances for a few dozen libraries in GA, many
of which were repeat bookings from 2011; returning for the fourth
straight year to the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library in IL, where I
played my second-ever Pint Size Polkas show in 2009; and meeting Ely,
a nine-year-old accordion player, after my run of programs in northern
Texas late last month. I've posted numerous photos, videos, and
details from all of my travels this summer to my Facebook page, so why
don't you check it out? It's at
www.facebook.com/pintsizepolkas.
Looking ahead, next week is my last big trip of the summer to Sedalia,
MO for the Missouri State Fair. I just learned today that I'll be
sharing the stage starting on Tuesday with La Crosse, WI's Kenny
Ahern. If you plan to attend the Fair either here in WI or in MO, do
not miss his show - he's one of the best physical comedians you'll
ever see! After that, I'll be gearing up for Oktoberfest season, which
this year includes another trip to GA for the Live Oak Public
Libraries Oktoberfest in the Savannah area. I love Georgia! Details on
all Pint Size Polkas performances can be found on the
Events page here

For the Mike Schneider Band, we have two brand-new festivals coming
up: This Sunday, August 12 at St. Joseph Parish Festival in Big Bend,
WI starting at noon; and then on Sunday, August 26, help drummer Don
Jones and I celebrate our birthday at Ss. Mary and Robert Parish
Festival in Union Grove. We'd love to see you there! We're also
looking forward to performances at Triglav Park in Wind Lake on
Sunday, August 19; the Hustisford Concert in the Park on Tuesday,
August 28; and our first of two appearances at the Oak Creek Lions
Fest starting at noon on Friday, August 31. We'll also be there on
Sunday, September 2 as the "opening act" for Steve Meisner. More
details on all Mike Schneider Band dates can be found at
www.mikeschneiderband.com.

hope to see you soon.
Thanks again!
